Plain summary: Your links go straight to your own Google Sheet. Cinder Trove has no server that receives or holds your data.
What Cinder Trove is
Cinder Trove is a Chrome extension and mobile app for saving links to a Google Sheet inside your own Google Drive account. Saved items can include job postings, scholarships, research programmes, or any URL you want to track. Notion and Airtable export is also available, set up with your own API credentials.
Data we do not collect
There is no Cinder Trove database receiving your saved links, titles, notes, or deadlines. We do not collect:
- URLs, titles, or notes you save
- Your browsing history
- Your Google account password
- Notion or Airtable tokens (those stay on your device)
- Payment card details
Data stored on your device
The Chrome extension writes to Chrome's synced storage (chrome.storage.sync), which follows your Google account across signed-in browsers. It holds:
- Your chosen categories and sheet name
- The ID of your Google Sheet (not the sheet contents)
- Your Notion token and database ID, if you set up Notion export
- Your Airtable token and base ID, if you set up Airtable export
- Your Pro license key
The mobile app stores the same information in device-local storage via AsyncStorage. None of this is sent to Cinder Trove.
Google account access
Signing in grants two OAuth scopes:
- spreadsheets - used to create your sheet and write rows when you save a link
- userinfo.email - used to show which account is connected inside the extension
Cinder Trove only touches the sheet it created for you. It does not read, rename, or delete any other file in your Drive. Your access token is kept on your device and is not sent to our servers.
Third-party services
Some features call external APIs directly from your device:
- Microlink - pulls the page title, description, and publisher when you save a URL. Only the URL is sent. See microlink.io/privacy.
- OCR.space - receives a screenshot image when you use the OCR feature. See ocr.space/privacy.
- Google Sheets API and Google OAuth - covered by Google's Privacy Policy.
- Notion API / Airtable API - called only if you configure those exports. Requests go from your device straight to Notion or Airtable.
- Lemon Squeezy - handles Pro subscription billing. Card details go to Lemon Squeezy; Cinder Trove never sees them. See lemonsqueezy.com/privacy.
Analytics and tracking
No analytics tools, tracking pixels, or crash reporters are included in Cinder Trove. Usage data is not collected.
Children
Cinder Trove is not for children under 13. No information is knowingly collected from them.
Policy updates
When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page will reflect it. Continuing to use Cinder Trove after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Your data
Cinder Trove holds nothing about you server-side, so there is nothing to request or erase from us. Your saved links live in your Google Sheet; delete or edit them there at any time. To cut off Cinder Trove's Google access, go to myaccount.google.com/permissions and remove the app.
